🗺️ Kingdom Map
The scrollable, zoomable kingdom map; neighboring kingdoms, regions and the 16 city slots, layers, city icons, marches and incoming attacks.
The kingdom map shows the entire kingdom on a single canvas you can scroll and zoom. You open it from the Map tab in the bottom menu. Cities, Ancient Fortresses, dragon lairs, Hades' Fortress, armies on the move and attacks coming at your city are all on this map.
The kingdom grid
Each kingdom sits in its own cell of a large world grid. As you zoom out, the neighboring kingdoms around yours appear too (an area of 5 × 5 kingdoms).
- The name and age of each kingdom is written in its center: "12 days old", "Opened today", "Opens in 3 days", "Pre-registration", "Closed".
- Your own kingdom is marked with 📍.
- The terrain (meadow, forest, hill, mountain, lake, snow) continues seamlessly across kingdoms. Toward the center of each kingdom the terrain darkens: Hades' belt of ash and lava.
Regions and city slots
The map is divided into regions; each region has a coordinate (e.g. 125:340). A 500 × 500 map has 250,000 regions.
When you zoom all the way into a region, you see its interior:
- Around the edge there are 16 plots (city slots). Cities sit on their own plots.
- In the middle of the region is its special structure, if any: an Ancient Fortress, a Dragon Lair or Hades' Fortress. If there's no structure, the region's coordinate is shown carved into the ground in the middle.
When you choose Open region, the map glides and zooms into that region; neighboring regions stay visible at the edges.
What appears as you zoom in?
The closer you get, the more detail unfolds:
- Farthest: kingdoms, their names and ages, the 48 Ancient Fortresses and Hades.
- Closer: city density dots per region. Dragon lairs appear, and tapping a region opens that region's menu.
- Closer still: the icon and name of the strongest city in each region, detailed terrain texture.
- Closest: the region's interior; 16 plots, the cities on their plots and the structure in the middle.
The corner of the screen shows how many regions you're viewing and what unlocks at the next zoom level.
City icons
A city's icon shows its castle level:
| Castle level | 1–4 | 5–9 | 10–19 | 20–29 | 30+ |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Icon | 🛖 village | 🏘️ town | 🏯 city | 🏰 castle | 👑 citadel |
Colors: your city is gold, guildmates are green, other players cream. Shielded cities have a blue ring around them.
Fortresses
Ancient Fortresses are colored by owner: your guild, another guild, unowned; shielded fortresses have a blue ring. The legend shows how many fortresses are owned and how many your guild holds. For details see Guild Fortresses.
Layers and tools
In the bar at the top of the map:
- 🏠 My region: takes the map to your city.
- 📍 Go to coordinate: opens the region at the coordinate you type.
- ↻ Refresh: refreshes the map from the server. The map normally opens instantly as you last saw it and updates by itself in the background.
- Layer buttons: 🏘️ Cities · 🏰 Fortresses · 🐉 Lairs · 🚶 Marches · ▦ Grid. You can turn off layers you don't want.
The mini map in the corner shows the whole kingdom, the fortresses and the region you're in. Tapping the mini map takes you to that spot.
What happens when you tap?
| What you tap | What opens |
|---|---|
| Another player's city | Attack · Send Spy · Profile · Open region. If the region has several cities, you pick the city first. |
| Your own city | Camp Area |
| An empty plot | Founding a city (if you have a colony slot) |
| Ancient Fortress, Dragon Lair, Hades | That structure's page (status, power, attack and rally) |
For attack and spying rules see PvP and Spying; for founding a new city see Getting Started.
Marches
Your armies on the road move live on the map: PvP marches, dragon lair marches, Hades vanguard marches, storehouse trips and your spies.
- The path already covered is drawn as a solid line, the remaining path as a dashed line flowing in the army's direction.
- The army icon shows the troop count and time remaining; there's a target ring at the destination.
- When the army arrives a clash burst appears; on the way back the result (🏆 / 💀) is shown.
- Tapping an army icon opens the Marches panel. The panel opens on top of the map; the map doesn't close.
Incoming attacks
Attacks coming at your city are also drawn on the map in red:
- Solo attack (☠): marches from the attacker's city toward yours.
- Rally (🚩): each participant's army marches from its own city; those that arrive wait around the target, and the time left until the battle is shown above the target.
- A red pulse beats around your city while it's under attack.
While the map is open, incoming attacks update every few seconds. To prepare your defense, see PvP and Spying.
